It's finely ground, so I think it's good to use in cooking. I don't like coarse red pepper powder because it gets stuck in my throat, but I like this because it doesn't have a coarse taste when used in cooking.

This is not fine red pepper flakes. It seems to be more small to medium sized. It works out well enough.
